March Favorites

April 17, 2018

Hey Guys! I have skipped February Favorites because I haven’t used anything new. Mostly still the same products from January. Although on the end of February until the whole month of March, I found new amazing stuff that I can’t stop using from the moment I tried it. I use them mostly for my work makeup, where I prefer quick application with long lasting formula.

Miniso’s Rose Moisturizing Facial Spray

This is something that i’ve been loving so far.

It can be used as a toner, but I prefer to apply it after applying my makeup. I also spray it whenever my face feels itchy and dry.  For a product so affordable & refreshing, I will have to definitely stock up on these. Plus the scent is not overpowering.

L’oreal True Match Lumi Cushion Shade W3

I have been fond of cushion foundations lately. So far most of my cushion foundations are from Korean brands. What I love about Korean Cushion Foundations is that they have SPF’s, different types of formula, more skincare benefits & most of the Korean brand’s also sells refills so you can recycle your previous cushion foundation case. The only downside is that K-products don’t have a range of shades for medium to darker skin tones.

So when I heard about L’oreal releasing their own cushion foundation with a range of shades to chose from, I had the urge to buy it.

Liquid Foundation revolutionized – build luminous coverage in a tap. Introducing new True Match™ Lumi Cushion, a liquid foundation infused in an innovative sponge that delivers the perfect amount of makeup. Our luminous refreshing formula creates sheer to medium coverage. Tap a little for a fresh natural glow, tap on more to build a new level of luminous coverage. Liquid foundation + tap on applicator puff gives you convenient on-the-go coverage.

Available in 12 true-to-skin shades
Finish: Fresh, Natural & Luminous
Coverage: Sheer to medium, buildable coverage
Skin Type: For all skin types. Safe for sensitive skin. Does not clog pores.

It looks like any other ordinary cushion foundation. I use this everyday for work during night shifts. I find this more convenient than my other cushion foundations because they contain SPF that sometimes gives a white cast in flash photography.

Pros

  • Convenient to carry and easy to apply
  • Good Shades to select from
  • Light to medium coverage
  • “My skin but better” results.
  • Good for all skin types

Cons

  • No refill, cushion foundation case cannot be recycled.
  • Doesn’t last long on skin. ( around 4 hours after you can see the product fading)
  • Not Cruelty free.

Miniso We Bare Bears Deep Cleansing Pore Strip

It’s been a long time since I used a nose strip. I just usually scrub once or twice a week & that’s it. Even after exfoliating, there are still some white heads/ blackheads left out which can’t be removed by exfoliation which requires me to go for facials.

When I saw this in Miniso, I gotta admit, I feel inlove with the packaging. It’s just so adorable! Then when I read it out and saw “Deep Cleansing”, I had to see & try if it will get rid of the gunk left behind.

I didn’t really expect much from the product since it was so cheap &  just looks like a marketing strategy to attract teens.

I was shocked to see the results….

PLEASE SKIP PIC IF YOU FEEL ICKY.

I mean seriously it’s disgusting but so satisfying to see that it pulled out everything.

After using it, It I apply aloe vera gel to close the pores and calm down the redness.

Maybelline Color Sensational The Loaded Bolds Shade 10 Smoking Red

Hypercolor pigments and an opaque, creamy clay base deliver one-stroke intensity. Sumptuous honey nectar leaves a creamy finish. Maybelline’s Color Sensational The Loaded Bolds is available in a range of pigment-loaded shades from deep plums and electric blues to vibrant reds and natural nudes.

I use this alternately with Colourpop’s Ultra matte lip. I love that It looks matte, but when applied, it has a creamy consistency which doesn’t dry out my lips. The only thing I noticed, it was a bit hard to remove the color from the lip once applied. But overall I love the product.

Nature Republic Aqua Super Aqua Max Fresh Watery Cream

The Aqua Capture System keeps skin moisturized and refreshed.  Ingredients such as Portulaca oleracea extract and licorice root extract make skin feel smooth by providing an astringent effect to oily skin.

Recommended for OILY type skin

Treating oily skin doesn’t mean you have to strip your skin dry. In fact, dehydrated skin often triggers the oil glands to go into overdrive, to compensate for the moisture lacking in the skin. Nature Republic brings you their Super Aqua Max Fresh Watery Cream, created to cut the grease while also providing rich hydration to keep the skin firm, radiant and oil-free all throughout the day. Featuring marine-based ingredients including Hawaiian Sea Water and Sea Cucumber Extract, the lightweight, watery cream instantly hydrates the skin by releasing steady amounts of moisture. Skin feels velvety soft to the touch, and beautifully balanced.

Beneficial ingredients

Seawater, Glycerin, Betaine, Licorice, Portulaca Oleracea Extract, Sea Cucumber Extract, Collagen, Aloe Vera, Sodium Hyaluronate

I apply this on the last step of my skincare. On the next day, after rinsing,I notice that my face is hydrated and plumped. I use this every other day or when my skin needs it the most.

Miniso Strawberry Lip Balm Sphere (Clear)

I love how convenient this lip balm is. It’s similar to the EOS lip balms.

It moisturizes my lips. They also have tinted lip balms, but I preferred the clear or colorless version. It smells amazing as well.

In my opinion, I can suggest you try out Korean brands like Hera, su;m37, sulwhasoo, Missha, Iope, etc. They are brands that cater to mature skin. They keywords in searching products suitable to you skin type (dry & pigmentation) is hydrating, moisturizing, anti aging, anti wrinkle, brightening, firming, etc. You should also avoid skincare products with ingredients that contains parabens & sulfates. To protect your skin from hyper-pigmentation, always apply sun screen or make up that has SPF.

Love the look of the lipstick!

  5. These favorites are so refreshing as I haven’t heard of some of the brands before. I’ve been eyeing up the Lancome cushion foundation so it’s great to hear that you enjoyed your cushion foundation, though it’s from a different brand.

    Great picks! x

Miniso is an asian brand. They already started to have their stores internationally like in Dubai & Australia. Hopefully you’ll see one in your country soon. They have awesome products. I’ll be trying high end cushion foundations soon to compare. Thanks!

  6. That moisturizing spray looks incredible! I’m a huge fan of anything with rose in it! It makes your skin feel like a rose petal. Obsessed. Also, those pore strips are the cutest thing I’ve ever seen, and that’s not a sentence I ever thought I’d say haha. But those bears are adorable!
